Mongrel Moon

Bloody Mongrel’s provenance came to be as a result of a youth spent “learning the hard way” and searching for existential truth and meaning through travel, self-reflection and meditation. He was born in British Columbia, Canada, but did not find home until he met Misty Moon. His musical influences include Jimi Hendrix, John Frusciante, Pink Floyd and Nirvana. His existential influences include Neville, Rick Rubin and Sadhguru.
Misty Moon rose to being in the attic of a 100 year old house on a small island off the coast of Norway. It was there as a child that she felt safe enough to play and express herself by writing songs, singing and playing guitar. Her art is inspired and guided by the beauty and innocence of nature, especially the ocean. Her musical influences include AURORA, Billie Eilish and Pink Floyd. She loves to travel and is an ambitious student of yoga.
Fate brought them together 11 years ago and destiny led to the creation of Mongrel Moon on the spring equinox of 2025.
In the House of the Sun there are many mansions. Some brutal and unforgiving, hard right angles of dark, polished concrete covered with frayed thatch surrounded by salty air, wild waves and untamed tropical flora. It was in such a mansion that their upcoming work, a sonic architecture called Tropical Brutalism, was conceived, recorded and refined. In the dry season on El Salvador’s untouched coastline 6 of 7 songs on the EP were recorded in a beautifully equipped studio in the middle of nowhere, further adding meaning to one of the primary themes of the project - that there is immense beauty and potential in contrast.
