Balkan Beat Box

Balkan Beat Box is an Israel- inspired musical group whose two co-founders, Ori Kaplan saxophone, Tamir Muskat drums, met in Brooklyn as teenagers. Both had grown up with traditional music but felt they needed something stylistically new to represent themselves so they fused klezmer, Mediter- ranean, and Balkan traditions
with electronica, hip-hop and dancehall beats, including Jamaican dub. Their uniquely dance-worthy “gypsy punk” earned critical approval, simulta- neously making them audience favorites thanks to theirexplosive live shows. Their third album, Give, is an irresistible mix of amazing dance beats and incendiary lyrics. With Tomer Yosef vocals/sampler/ percussion, Itamar Zeigler bass, Ron Bunker guitar, and Peter Hess saxophone/clarinet.
