The Ministry of Casual Living (MoCL) is a registered non-profit society and a member of the Pacific Association of Artist-Run Centres, exhibiting the works of contemporary emerging and mid-career artists since March 2002. We began at 1442 Haultain St., which was our home-base until 2012. MoCL was established to provide artists from all disciplines with an accessible venue for experimentation. We are committed to promoting critical, self-reflective discourse, and integrating the artistic process into all aspects of everyday life.
We are located on the unceded territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples and Lekwungen-speaking peoples, now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We currently operate a gallery and studios at 750 Fairfield Rd., located in the heart of Downtown Victoria.
If you want a show, pitch us something. We're interested in bright ideas, regardless of credentials. We never want to see your CV – ever. MoCL houses interesting things to look at, listen to and think about. We welcome your input, which you can send to us at [email protected].
