Alice Mackay Room, Lower Level, Central Library, VPLThe Urbana Big Band is returning to the Vancouver Public Library for another evening of Swingin' Jazz, from classics by Ellington and Basie, to contemporary charts by today's top Canadian and international composers.
All the players in Urbana are members of the Arokis Society of Music, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting this wonderful music. Together with their sister big band, Impressions, these talented professional and amateur players have been bringing great sounds to lower mainland audiences for over 15 years. The Urbana Big Band will be under the direction of renowned local jazz musician and music educator, Robin Shier.
