Event Description

The Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra (VAMSO) opens its season with Concerto Extravaganza, October 16, 2016, 2pm at the Orpheum Theatre. In an afternoon celebrating some of British Columbia’s best and brightest talent, audiences will be treated to virtuosic performances by winners of the 2016 Orpheum Theatre Concerto Competition. Ranging in age from 8 to 19, the young prodigies will dazzle on violin, flute, oboe, and piano with triumphant works by Beethoven, Haydn, Copland, Bartok, Liszt, plus many more.
