Event Description

The Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra (VAMSO) closes its 2016/17 season with A John Williams Tribute, Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2pm at the Orpheum Theatre. Cinema meets the concert hall in a program of John Williams’ popular scores for such films as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Catch Me If You Can. Performing Williams’ legendary sweeping and fantastical themes, the more than 100 young orchestra members will conjure iconic scenes from everyone’s favourite blockbusters. Led by conductor Kathleen Allan, the concert will also feature Michael Morimoto on Saxophone, and a pre-performance by VAM choirs.
