Singing For Our Lives for 45 years! Holly Near, Singer/Songwriter/ActivistOne of the most consistent social change artists of our time for the past 45 years, Holly Near continues to write and sing songs that lift our spirits, challenge our minds, and invite us to our most compassionate selves. Holly has been. There is a theatricality about her work that makes it difficult to know whether to call her a cabaret singer or a folk singer. As one fan put it, “She is like a mixing of Pete Seeger and Judy Garland”. Scattered between the songs are both startling and funny stories of Holly’s travels in the world. Accompanied by pianist Tammy Hall, bassist Jan Martinelli and vocalist Tori Trujillo, Holly Near offers up an intelligent and highly entertaining evening - which in these times might actually be a life saver. She is still singing for our lives.
