The Kingston Baroque Consort (KBC) presents L'arte del arco: Italian Music for Strings at St. James’ Anglican Church, featuring special guest cellist Elinor Frey, one of Canada's leading Baroque specialists.Advance tickets cost $25 each for adults and $10 each for students (free for under 17) and are available by emailing [email protected], by phone at 613-217-5099, in person at Novel Idea (156 Princess St.), or at the door with cash, cheque, or Interac e-transfer.
About L'arte del arco: Italian Music for Strings
The third of four concerts in the Kingston Baroque Consort’s second season features the strings of the group. The program will include sinfonia by Legrenzi, Sammartini, and Caldara, concerti by Dall'Abaco and Corelli, and feature Elinor Frey in a performance of the solo concerto in C major for Violoncello Piccolo by Sammartini.
There will also be an open coaching session with Elinor Frey on Saturday 21 January from 10am to noon at Harrison-LeCaine Hall on the Queen’s University campus. For information about auditing or participating in the workshop, contact [email protected].
About The Kingston Baroque Consort
The KBC is Kingston’s newest orchestra devoted wholly to Historically Informed practice of music from the Baroque era. Founded by Katie Legere, Jeff Hamacher, Julia McFarlane, and Michael Capon, the KBC is a collective of professional musicians drawn from the Kingston Symphony Orchestra and the wider community.
