Are you an artist wondering how to get into book design? Are you a writer wondering how book covers are made, and who gets a say? Want to develop your own unique typography to make your work unique? Graphic designer, illustrator and artist Oliver McPartlin offers an insight into the book jacket and typography design business.
Oliver McPartlin is a graphic designer, illustrator, and artist from Vancouver, Canada. Oliver has over ten years of freelance and in-house experience in indie book publishing, as both Art Director and Production Manager. He specialised in cover design, typography, and internal layout for literary fiction and graphic titles, while occasionally working with video, motion graphics, 3D and AR. His work can be seen adoring book jackets by some of Canada’s most exciting authors, including Angie Abdou, Larissa Lai, Ivan Coyote, Téa Mutonji, Joshua Whitehead, Catherine Hernandez, Kevin Chong, and Amber Dawn.
