Event Description
Thanks to you music lovers and I suppose the desire to get your mind off our world events, the popularity of this traditional jazz band is filling the club and you can join them on April 6th 1-3 pm in a warm, friendly atmosphere of fun. This is the 34th year for CanUS altho’ 2 band members go back to the beginning of Hermann’s Jazz Club 44 years ago, which is now the best jazz club in Canada - and points beyond, travelling musicians tell us. We met the lady that wrote that first check for Al Pease & Toni Blodgett who was at the last show -wow!Simon, the Australian member and past leader of the Fireworks Jazz Band is on trumpet & wife, Lauri on drums. There are 6 other local heroes like Joey Smith, past bassist for Glenn Miller Orch., Avram McCagherty, banjo leader of his own popular band, Al Pease , Canada’s reed rep. in the NORAD Band, Doug Rhodes from L.A., alto sax where he was a studio musician, and with stride/ragtime Toni at the piano. It is very advisable to get tickets so as to reserve a table. Distant fans also have a livestream to enjoy on YouTube.
