Zoubi and the Sea with CattleguardCome join us for a night of live music featuring Zoubi and the Sea and Cattleguard at Fort Tectoria (777 Fort St).
Zoubi (they/them) grew up on Hornby Island, BC. Zoubi and the Sea first formed in 2016 and after performing in several West Coast music festivals, opening for Jon and Roy, Tara Lightfoot, Rising Appalachia, and Carmanah, they recorded an EP titled “Midnight.” Zoubi'sambition led them to Toronto to study songwriting and performance and record “Ruby,” a solo EP. Zoubi blends finger-style guitar with deep lyrics and simple, catchy melodies. On stage, Zoubi enchants their audience with authentic personal anecdotes and when performing as a band, Zoubi and the Sea meld catchy pop choruses with alt-rock grit and witchy darkness.
