Event Description
One of Toronto's finest all-professional choral groups, Opus 8, is giving a concert of Canada's finest composers at St George's Cathedral, Kingston on Friday, September 26 at 7pm. From sacred music to popular jazz classics, this concert has something for everyone, in an accessible pay-what-you-can format. The first half of this concert features works from their latest recording "Canadian Sacred Music". Opus 8 is particularly glad to be reviving the work of Violet Archer, in her monumental composition, the Bell, which has not been heard in over 5 decades. The second half features a selection of fun jazz favourites in the close-harmony a cappella style.
We hope you can join us for this pay-what-you-can concert, open to any wishing to attend without needing to purchase a ticket, with a chance to meet the singers after the performance.
St George's Cathedral is an inclusive and accessible space and all are welcome.
