Event Description
The Artery is hosting a FREE screening of the stylish, queer, erotic horror-thriller KNIFE + HEART to get you in that Halloween spirit. Doors open at 7:30pm with complimentary beverages and candy and the film will start at 8:00pm. Artery is the newest gallery space and gathering place run by ReelOut and Trellis and we welcome you to check out our renovations before the screening!Warning: This film is not suitable for children and no one under 18 years of age will be admitted. It contains puh-lenty of scenes of gore, violence, nudity and sexual acts. Please note this film is in French with English Subtitles. All (18+) members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their allies are invited. You can bring your own beverages and snacks with the exception of nuts. Our venue is semi-accessible (the washrooms do not have support rails and our doors are not automatic). As mentioned, the film does have english subtitles for those with hearing disabilities. The film may contain flashing lights SEIZURE WARNING.

In the summer of 1979, Paris-based filmmaker Anne is a producer of third-rate gay porn. After her editor and lover Lois leaves her, she tries to win her back by shooting her most ambitious film yet with her trusted, flamboyant sidekick Archibald. But when one of her actors is brutally murdered, Anne gets caught up in a strange investigation that turns her life upside-down. Shot on 35mm and featuring a killer retro score from M83, Yann Gonzalez's KNIFE + HEART is an ultra-stylish and blood-soaked ode to 70s- era De Palma, Argento and Friedkin.
