Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone—welcome Jam at 6:45pm, Open Stage at 7:30pm, Feature Performers Black Angus at 9:00pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the doorVancouver Island's Black Angus was born in 2006/07 out of the success of West Coast Celtic band Kitangus. Alex MacCuaig, upright bass & vocals, followed Gareth Hurwood, guitar & vocals, on that journey - a journey that began right here at The Folk! Two decades later, their partnership celebrates collaboration with each other and with a crack roster of guest players.
Black Angus returns to the VFMS with fiddler extraordinaire Sarah Tradewell - the trio a happy place for the repertoire and the roster! Roots, blues, gospel, shanties, humours dark and light, this is gratitude, this is Gareth, Alex, and Sarah — Black Angus X 3 back at the VFMS!
