Event Description
Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone—welcome Jam at 6:45pm, Open Stage at 7:30pm, Multi-Feature Performers starting at 8:15pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door8:15pm The Co-Conspirators perform Folk/singer-songwriter music with elements of Bluegrass, Country, Blues, Gospel, and general Roots music. With heavy emphasis on vocal harmonies, this duo has been compared to The Weavers, Ian & Sylvia, and Richard & Linda Thompson. They perform a perfect mix of originals, Traditional Folk, and Old-Time-favourite covers, and Canadian Folk music legend Valdy says they sound like they’ve been singing together their whole lives!
9:10pm Ky Bryski Folk, Country, Bluegrass, and Old-Time – Ky plays music about the people, by the people, for the people!
9:35pm Nice Verdes. These Indie World troubadours came together after a chance meeting during a peace march in Vancouver in 2003. Merging original compositions with sounds from across the globe, this duo’s music is driven by nomadic hearts and a love of exploration. Bright, infectious, and authentic, blending Tres Cubano, accordions, and vocal harmonies, Nice Verdes presents diverse musical textures with an intimate, acoustic charm! charm!
