CineVic Education Series:Arnold Lim and The Bryce Lee Story
CineVic’s first instalment of our Education Series will be breaking down local director Arnold Lim’s most recent feature film, The Bryce Lee Story, as he guides you along his process through pre-production, production and finally post-production.
The Bryce Lee Story is Arnold’s most recent directing adventure and was filmed in the summer of 2025, with funding from Telefilm Canada and support from Victoria’s local crew including several CineVic members.
From one filmmaker to another, this intimate guest talk will answer your burning questions, and share what it takes to create a successful indie feature film production.

Korean-Canadian director Arnold Lim was selected as a recipient of Telefilm’s Talent to Watch program twice, with past awards and grants from the BC Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, BravoFACT, the Harold Greenberg Fund and the DGCBC Greenlight Award. Lim is a graduate of the National Screen Institute’s Features First Program, and has been a programmer or juror for numerous film festivals, a video journalist of more than a decade, and Photography Manager for four Olympic Games. He hails from Victoria, BC.
Arnold will be interviewed by Joyce Kline, a Leo award winning producon designer and filmmaker with a passion for storytelling. Formally trained as a visual arst, she draws on wide-ranging experience as a writer, playwright, dancer, set decorator and installaon, performance and storyboard arst. Her debut film Cancelled Stamp, which she wrote and directed, was voted Audience Favourite Best Short in the 2022 Victoria Film Fesval and Leo nominated for Producon Design in a Short Drama. Her screenplays have been quarter and semi-finalists in internaonal compeons; she also hosts Push In: The Cinevic Podcast.
