Event Description

I'm Paul Barton, and I'm back in Kingston, and ready to put on a concert. I grew up in Kingston, playing ska and jazz around town, before moving to Toronto to study music. I stayed in Toronto for 14 years, learning, playing music, and recording albums. This is my first concert since moving back to Kingston last spring.

My music has changed a lot in 14 years. I might describe it as "heartfelt folk-pop". I'll be playing songs from some of my recent albums, including:

I Am Me: https://paulbarton.bandcamp.com/album/i-am-me

Album Eleven: https://paulbarton.bandcamp.com/album/album-eleven

How Did I get Here: https://paulbarton.bandcamp.com/album/how-did-i-get-here

I will also play some of my favourite sing-along songs that were popular on the radio or in movies when I grew up.

I'll have my dad Dave Barton join me on bass, and my brother Jonathan Barton on drums and guitar.

A new band called The Drift will play an opening set. The Drift is Sonja Moller, Daphne Kennedy, and Jonathan Barton. Brought together by orchestral music, these three multi-instrumentalists genre-hop to folk, roots, and celtic world in this new trio.
